Johnathan joined Chambers having completed his pupillage with Mr. Ambrose Ho SC, Mr. Jonathan Ah-weng, Ms. Joyce Leung and Mr. Herbert Leung. He further marshalled with the Hon. Madam Justice Chu V-P. He is developing a broad practice with experience in handling matters involving commercial, company, arbitration, land, probate, personal injury, employment and family.

Johnathan obtained his LLB from the University of Warwick and his LLM with Distinction from the London School of Economics. He further obtained his PCLL from the University of Hong Kong, where he was awarded the Henry Wai & Co. Litigation Prize.

  • Tsai & Anor v Best Leader Precious Metals Ltd & Ors [2023] HKCFI 2124 (and subsequent [2023] HKCFI 2871): Continuation of Mareva and proprietary injunctions in representative proceedings, involving claims of fraudulent misrepresentation, conspiracy and restitution (led by Mr. Norman Nip SC and Mr. Roger Phang).
  • High Route Ltd v Wong Chung Kai [2024] HKCFI 75: Concerning a claim for the recovery of deposits in a share purchase transaction to buy a property, involving issues of due diligence investigation and good title (with Ms. Prisca Cheung).
  • Choy Yuen On David v Soka Gakkai International Ltd [2024] HKCFI 696: Concerning an application to vary a costs order after trial (with Mr. Michael Yin).

  • Re Modena Technology Ltd [2023] HKCFI 1173: Concerning an application by a minority shareholder of a parent company to intervene derivatively to defend a claim on behalf of a subsidiary company (as sole counsel).

  • Century Supreme v Kam Chi Kit Charles & Ors, LDCS 24000/2018: Assisted in the trial of an application under the Land (Compulsory Sale for Redevelopment) Ordinance, Cap. 545, where the following expert issues were disputed, namely building condition, structural condition, and valuation.
